South Indian Superstar Rajinikanth's Telugu movie Vikramasimha, which had created lot of hype and expectations before its release, has received a lukewarm response at the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Box Office. Having clashed with Akkineni family drama film Manam, the motion capture 3D computer-animated period film has ended the first weekend with a poor collection in the state and other parts of globe.Vikramasimha, which is the dubbed version of Soundarya's Tamil movie Kochadaiyaan, released in a large number of screens in the state on May 23. Though it had huge hype and lot of positive talk surrounding it before its release, the movie opened to a poor start at the ticket counters. Its setback was largely due to the film goers' sentiment to ANR's last film Manam, which was the first choice for Many Telugu viewers.Instead of going upwards, the business of Vikramasimha dipped considerably on Saturday and Sunday, thereby turning out to be the biggest debacle of the year. The bosses of Lakshmy Ganapathy Films, who have bagged the rights of the Telugu version of Kochadaiyaan for whopping price, are yet to reveal the official numbers of its collection. But as per its trends, the film has raked in approximately Rs 3 crores nett at the Andhra Prades Box Office in the first weekend.Vikramasimha, which was released in a large number of screens in America, has collected approximately less than Rs 1 crore at the USA Box Office in the first weekend. However, its other versions seems to have done well at the ticket counters. Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, #Kochadaiiyaan opening weekend - Worldwide: Rs 42 cr gross. All 6 languages. 2D and 3D. SUPERB!"
